Artists Political Action Network was founded to organize arts communities to engage in effective political action against racist, misogynist, ecocidal, corrupt, plutocratic, nationalist and authoritarian agendas and to mobilize the cultural and social capital of contemporary art in the fight for free expression, progressive social change and justice
We strive to be effective, inclusive, transparent, diverse, equitable, and democratic.
The network consists of issue-based Action Committees that research, plan and carry out political actions and Standing Committees that develop and maintain the network infrastructure. All members of the community are welcome to join existing committees or to propose new Action Committees on issues they want to engage.
APAN welcomes everyone who identifies with its mission.
Come to the next APAN meeting on June 5, 2017 at the American Legion in Highland Park. APAN meets the first Sunday of every month at various locations around LA.
